Heritage Foods Ltd has commissioned its first solar power plant of 2.34 MW capacity in Adavimasjidapally in Mulugu Mandal in Medak district of Andhra Pradesh. The project is completed by Mahindra EPC is spread across a 14-acre site, the plant comprises of 9,360 solar PV modules based on multi-crystalline technology. The power thus generated from the plant will be used for captive purpose for its dairy unit located in Hyderabad
In October 2013, the state government of Karnataka has announced a new the solar power tariff of Rs. 8.40 per unit for solar photo-voltaic generation and Rs. 10.92 per unit for solar -thermal power generation, Rs 9.56/unit for rooftop and small solar PV plants and Rs 7.20/unit for rooftop and small solar PV plants with 30 per cent government subsidy on capital costs. These tariff will become applicable from April 2013 and will be effective till 2018.
M&B Switchgear Ltd is planning to set up 20 MW solar power plant near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The project will be set up with an investment of Rs. 2500 million and will have a debt: equity ratio of 70:30 . The project is expected to achieve financial closure by end 2012. The company has a 2 MW grid connected plant in Raigarh district in Madhya Pradesh
