Sunborne Solar Energy Pvt Ltd, backed by General Catalyst Partners - a prominent US based private equity fund is planning to investment Rs.15000 million in solar power projects in the country. It plans to set up 50 MW concentrated solar power plants (CSP) by bidding under the JNNSM programme. It will look at a mix of solar thermal and PV plants in the long term. Currently, the company is setting up a 15 MW solar PV plant in Gujarat.
The company has roped in Eoxis Energy, an European company for the project with a equity stake of 49%. It may be noted, Eoxis Energy has been backed by the private venture fund Platina Partners. The company had acquired 200 acres of land

Solar irradiance data will influence plant design, cost and bankability of the project.
