CESC plans 200 MW solar project in Bikaner


CESC, a RP Goenka group company is venturing into solar power generation. It has acquired 200 acres of land with plans to expand it to 1000 acres. Here it will build 200 -400 MW of solar thermal power plant with an investment of Rs. 20000 million over a period of 5 years. It may be noted, the company had ventured into renewable energy in big way in hydel, wind and solar projects.

Indian Oil Corp to set up a 6 MW solar plant in Barmer


Indian Oil Corp in joint-venture with BHEL is planning to set up a 6 MW + solar photo voltaic plant in Barmer in Rajasthan. The plant will come up at its existing vacant land and the equipment will be provided by its partner BHEL. The company is also considering to set up solar cells at is petrol retail outlets and has started a few pilot projects. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 1000 million.

Natural Power setting up 5 MW solar plant in Jaipur

Natural Power, a solar energy company is planning to set up a 5 MW solar power plant with an investment of Rs. 850 million in Jaipur. The project will be funded through 70% private equity and balance from debts. The project will be scaled upto 40 MW at later stage. The company is currently on developing a roof-top solar network to generate cheaper and clean power.
