ReneSola, a Chinese solar module manufacturer is planning to set up a manufacturing unit India to produce solar pv modules. The company which has secured orders from Indian solar power developers for 17 MW estimates a market of 250 MW over a two years for itself. ReneSola PV modules converts 15.7 percent of solar energy to power. In India, to meet the local manufacture conditions for projects under the National Solar Mission, ReneSola is getting its modules manufactured by the Indian company, Websol. ReneSola supplies silicon wafers and Websol makes cells and modules out of them.
Titan Energy Systems has tied up with solar photo voltaic manufacturer Grupo Ortiz of Spain. The partnership will provide solar PV modules for the PIH Energy solar project upcoming in Gujarat besides maintenance services. Currently, the company solar PV module capacity is around 100 MW and is to be increased by another 200 MW.

Orb Energy launches a do-it-yourself solar power kit which can deployed in rural households. The user has to mount the solar panel on the roof and fit the lamps along with the battery. The kit will incur a cost of Rs.1.6 capacity compared to Rs. 6.0 from a kerosene lantern. Several Regional Rural Banks have evinced interest besides neighbouring countries.
