JVS Exports had set up a 5 MW solar power photo voltaic power plant in Virudunagar in Tamil Nadu. The project had been commissioned by Vikram Solar (manufacturer of PV modules) and has been completed in 75 days. The company will claim the subsidy through "REC" renewable energy certificate.
NanoPV Voltech Solar Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between US-based NanoPV Solar Inc and the Voltech group of Chennai is setting up a solar module manufacturing plant in Chennai. The plant has a capacity of 75 MW and comes up with an investment of Rs. 1000 million. NanoPV Voltech’s subsidiaries have won rights to set up two solar power projects—of 10 MW and 14 MW—in Tamil Nadu, through a bidding process of the state utility, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corp Ltd
