Raasi Green Earth Energy Pvt Ltd is planning to set up a 100 MW solar powered plant in Paramakudi in Tamil Nadu. The company has signed an MoU with TIDCO and the project is likely to developed on public-private partnership basis. Initially, the company will set up a 10 MW project and is looking to finalize investors for the 90 MW.
Zynergy Projects & Services had set up a 50 MW crystalline silicon module plant in Sriperumpudur near Chennai. The project had come up with an investment of Rs. 400 million. The new PV module developed by Zynergy has 16.9 % efficiency and the know-how sourced from PV World of Singapore. The company had already set up a 1 MW solar plant through its subsidiary Great Shine Holdings.
Moser Baer Clean Energy Ltd has commissioned the first 5 MW solar power plant in Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu. The technical expertise for the project has been provided by Moser Baer Solar, while IFC and IDBI has funded the project. The project uses amorphous silicon thin film technology, best for Indian climate, and is connected to the 110 kv grid. It may be noted, the project was awarded under National Solar Mission by the local TNEA.
