West Bengal Solar Power Projects

PLG Power to set up 40 MW solar power plant in Patan in Gujarat

PLG Power Ltd is setting up a 40 MW solar power plant in Patan in Gujarat with an investment of Rs. 35000 million. The company has manufacturing facility crystalline PV modules in Sinnar in Nashik. It is one of the largest solar power projects in India and the company has signed an power purchase agreement with the state government of Gujarat.

Sonthalia Group to set up 500 MW Solar PV Cells in Falta

Sonthalia Group is planning to set up a solar PV cell manufacturing facility in West Bengal. The company has tied up for technology with 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG of Switzerland. Its pilot project is being set up in Falta Economic Zone and its capacity will be 25 MW in the first phase which will be expanded to 500 MW by year 2012. The project is being set up under the policy of semi-conductor policy of government of India.

Stone Solar to set up 1 MW solar plant in West Bengal


Stone Solar Pvt Ltd, a newly formed GP Goenka company is planning to set up a 1 MW solar power generation project in West Bengal. The company had submitted a proposal in this regard to the state government under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission scheme. To set up a 1 MW project, it may require 5 acres of land. It also plans to venture into manufacture of photo voltaic cells,  grid connected invertors etc.,
