Solex Group launches hybrid solar air-conditioner

Solex Group, a Mumbai based solar equipment company has launched a hybrid solar air conditioner which will conserve 30% electricity. The solar air conditioner will also operate on normal electric supply and it will also have a solar collector panel which can be fixed outside the room. Currently, the 0.75 tonne is priced at Rs..45000 and a 1.5 tonner cost Rs.71,000/-. The company is likely to tap the export market.

High Hind Vacuum to set up silicon ingot and wafer plant in Bangalore

High Hind Vacuum is planning to invest Rs. 600 million to set up a manufacturing facility in Bangalore to produce silicon ingots and wafers for solar PV modules. The plant will have 10 furnaces and will act as a pilot plant. It is likely to go operational in 2013. High Hind Vacuum (HHV) is collaborating with ECM Technologies, a French firm for process know-how.

Tata BP Solar expand its Bangalore plant capacity

Tata BP Solar, a joint-venture company between Tata Power and BP Solar is implementing a USD 100 million programme to raise its capacity by 62%.  It is adding a new production line of 32 MW PV cells. The investment programme was started in 2008 and was completed in 2010. The plant exports around 70% but with increasing domestic demand from JNNSM, India is likely to become a world scale market. Tata BP solar manufactures low-cost crystalline silicon cells and solar modules used to generate electricity from sunlight. Tata BP solar cells and modules are integrated into solar products like home lighting systems, street lights and telecommunication towers.

Sahajanand Laser Ltd plans solar thermal boiler systems

Sahajanand Laser Ltd , a Gujarat based company is planning to invest Rs. 1000 million to venture into solar thermal boiler systems. The company believes huge potential for solar thermal boilers in Gujarat and Maharashtra where there are textiles, pharma and chemical clusters which have polluting oil/coal/gas  fired boilers. The company is scouting for private equity investors to fund the project.
